Leo Katz was formally trained at the Fine Arts Academy in Vienna Austria between 1905-1909. He traveled extensively and continued his studies while painting portraits between 1910-1914. From 1934 to 1946 was active in printmaking and served as Stanley Hayter�s assistant at Atelier 17. Leo completed about 20 important prints while at Atelier 17 and closed the operation for Hayter when he returned to France in 1950.
