Charles Huard (French 1895-1965) � �French Soldiers in the Snow� � Transfer lithograph on cream paper, ca. 1915, 12 � x 9, signed in pencil. This piece is in excellent condition. This piece is in the Art Institute of Chicago collection.

During the First World War Huard served as an artist for the French government. The etchings and lithographs he made of French military life within the war zones provide an important and lasting record of these momentous times. Almost all his original prints from this period were published in signed editions of one hundred impressions.
